“That Person is Flying” GoFly Competition

The GoFly prize program is a competition intended to encourage “innovators, inventors, engineers, and makers to develop and build a personal flying device that can be used by anyone, anywhere.” This year the competition took place February 28-29, 2020 at Moffett Federal Airfield at NASA’s Ames Research Center. A total of 855 teams from 103 countries began in the competition, but only 23 made it to the Final Fly Off. The Pratt and Whitney Disruptor Award Winner this year was Team Tetra, from Tokyo, Japan, who were rewarded $100,000.
